Okay, I said I was done modifying my car but it's too tempting. I NEED to go 8 psi. I feel I can do it safely with stock injectors. The bigger crank pulley would be easiest to install but I don't like the idea of my motor having to spin more weight. The smaller blower pulley sounds more logical. My concern is, will I get belt slippage since it's only a 3 rib belt? Since the blower pulley will be smaller, there's less surface contact between the belt and the pulley...or is the difference so small it's not worth worrying about? So, WHERE CAN I FIND THE BEST PRICE FOR AN 8 PSI PULLEY AND SMALLER BELT???

You know if you want to do the SC pulley you are going to have to yank it, press off the pulley, press on the new one and put the SC back in right?
Why not go w/ the new stepper pulleys from Jim? Thay way all you have to do is yank the alternator or the strut.

I'm aware of the PITA operation involved with swapping SC pulley's. Unfortunately, the stepper pulley will not work with the civic kit. The civic kit uses a single belt to drive the SC and the alternator.

So does ANYONE know where I can get an 8 psi pulley. I believe I'm looking for a 3.4" pulley. I know there's old posts that mention where to get pulleys, how much they cost and what size to get. Unfortunately, the search feature on this "new" board isn't searching old posts at this time.

Fred,
Does your JRSC blower pulley have 3 ribs or 4 ??? Let me know if this is the route you decide... I can help.
By the way... I had the 8 psi pulley on my Del Sol years ago and I NEVER had any problems with belt slippage. The 3.4" pulley is still pretty good size.

JRCivic, I think Fred has the 3 rib pulley if he is running a D-series motor.
Fred, I have a 3 rib 3.2" pulley for sale, which gave me an increase of 2psi(lost of additional boost could have been due to belt slipage since there is less contact between the 3 rib pulley and the belt verses the 4rib pulley) You have 2 choices: you can buy a crank pulley upgrade from JR for $210 and a belt for $22 or you can get a custom pulley for the SC for $100-150(you will have to take the blower off). Good luck with your quest for boost. By the way when I was at 14psi for 8 months and I did not get detonation until above 6K rpm so the injectors should be fine at 8-10psi. Good luck.
